Self Esteem: A little jiggle won’t hurt anyone

That mid section pudge. We all know it. Whether man or woman, we face issues with having that small little pudge right in front of us day in and day out.

As ladies, we seem to stress about that small piece of bulge that appears when we don’t sit perfectly straight or shows up with the jeans are a little too tight. But recent surveys have shown that, men don’t actually care about it at all. And let’s be real, if a man truly cares about it or comments on it, he’s probably a douche and doesn’t deserve you for you.

So let’s get real, most women have bellies. We aren’t all the instagram model with the perfectly shaped abs and a size two. We have curves. Although our stomachs may be flat, they may not be cut or chiselled and that is perfectly okay.

Embrace the curve.

There’s a time that is slowly rising where we can be proud of who we are, no matter what size. Being proud of every curve, roll and dimple is accepted and should be encouraged. We work hard to maintain a physique that is health and satisfying, but with our busy lives, who can really spend 8 hours in the gym a day.

Self-conscious

There’s nothing that can kill a mood faster, between you and the new guy, than worrying about what he thinks of the imperfections he probably doesn’t even see. And to be perfectly honest, he’s looking at your tits and not at your stomach so relax a bit and enjoy him already!

They have it too.

Whether it’s a new guy or the steady BF, he’s probably just a self-conscious as you are about the flaws of his own body. How he isn’t as cut or shredded and doesn’t have the perfect athletic physique that you admire while scrolling through your stories. But just like he’s into you, there’s no reason he should worry because you’re already super into him too. Plus if the sex is amazing, who really gives a fuck about a little cushion in the front lol.

Don’t be ashamed.

We can absolutely have flatter stomachs and chiselled abs if we put in the time with a trainer 6 hours a day and ate nothing but salad. But, that doesn’t seem like very much fun at all. If you can’t see yourself maintaining a crappy diet and rigid workout routine for more than 6 months, it’s probably not for you. There’s nothing wrong with being active and fit. It’s encouraged but learn to balance it with healthy nutrition routines and activities. After all, you do have a life outside of the 2 inches of belly fat  that no one can really see.

All in all, lift your shirt, make it jiggle and love every inch of your being. Life is short enough without worrying about if a guy will like you because there’s a small bulge. Relax and enjoy a treat.. you deserve it just because you’re you!

Ingredients

1 package of puff pastry

1 can of cheery pie filling

1/2 tsp of almond extract

1 egg (for egg wash)

1 cup confectioners sugar

2 tsp heavy cream

1/2 cup of sliced almonds

 

Method

  1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees
  2. Layout puff pastry and cut into 4 equal squares
  3. Place 2 tbsp of cherry filling in centre of each square.
  4. Crimp the edges.
  5. Cut a vent on the top of the pastry (so it doesn’t explode in the oven).
  6. Brush each triangle with egg wash.
  7. Bake for 15 mins.
  8. While pastry bakes, make glaze by combining sugar, extract and heavy cream.
  9. Let pastry cool and drizzle glaze on top.
  10. Sprinkle almonds on top for decor.
  11. ENJOY!!!
